From my family to yours, Michael _________________________________________ God, Mother, and Me By Sarah Eve Roth The warmth of her hands when I held them in church --it was always a comfort for me. The feeling I got at that moment was that of being loved. Not a little feeling of love, but a whole lot of love. And maybe it was just us three at that moment--God, mother and me. During the hustle and bustle of the "adult" world I'm in, I sometimes go back in time, in my mind, to that place where I felt loved so strongly that I never wanted to leave --Sitting in the church pew next to my mother, holding her warm hands and one of her arms around me. Dear Bob, I was immensely touched by your last story. Also I thanked my God above that He sent all six of my brothers back from active duty from W.W.II and the Korean Conflict. My father also survived combat in W.W.I. Now many years later five of my brothers are dead, only one remaining that I adore and see him as often as I can. He is 76 now. My father died of heart failure at the young age of 53 leaving my mother with six sons and three young daughters to raise on her own. She never drove a car nor did she ever work outside of our home. With the help of my brothers when they could and an allotment because my Dad had been in the war we lived very frugally but we had lots of love to keep us going. Also we had lots of laughter. I have always believed that I serve a God who has a wonderful sense of humor. Thanks again for your insightful and loving story. Nanci L.
