Small Miracles of Love and Friendship

I wanted to introduce a wonderfully inspiring author named Yitta Halberstam to everyone.
Back in February of this year, Jamie Rusch, one of the players in the basketball
program I coach in, bought me a nationally best-selling book called, "Small Miracles II."
(Heartwarming Gifts of Extraordinary Coincidences.) I read the book from cover to cover
and loved it. The collection of stories warmed my heart, and often times made me want to
cry. I was touched by Jamie's thoughtfulness in finding just the right present that she
knew I would like.
The Small Miracle books are full of true stories in which events happen that some
would call coincidences. However, Yitta and her co-author, Judith Leventhal, call them,
"God's gentle tap on the shoulder or God's veritable shout: Hello from Heaven!"
A few months later I read a story through Heartwarmers.com submitted by Yitta, that
included her email address. I emailed her, and told her how much I enjoyed the story,
but I also told her how much I had enjoyed her book that Jamie had purchased for me.
To my surprise, I received a very gracious email back from her. We have corresponded
over the last five months and I have grown to admire this lady not only for the
encouragement and feedback she has given me with my own writing, but also for who
she is as a person. In between book tours, interviews and appearances on Television
shows, she has always made the time to respond with grace and class, to any email
this wannabe writer has sent her way. (In fact Yitta is on this daily email list!)
If I ever do get the opportunity to write a book with my own collection of stories
(sometime by the year 3000! LOL), she is going to be one of the first ones I ask to
review it! Just what she needs in her busy life.......
I would like to try and thank her in a very small way, by letting everyone on the
list know that her new book: Small Miracles of Love and Friendship is out in
bookstores now. You can purchase it from any local bookstore or at Amazon.com
at this link:

Yitta is also looking for stories for her next book entitled: "Small Miracles for Women."
If you happen to have a story that is written by a woman, or is about women, that is
based on a coincidence, you can email your story directly to her at:
YMYE@aol.com.
(Even if you come across a story written by somebody else that you think she might
be interested in.)
To the best of my knowledge, there are going to be some stories submitted by
people on this list in her next book! (I asked those who had a story to submit
them to her this last June.) Now that her new book has come out, and that we
have added about 400 or so new people to the list since then, I figured this was
a good time to share with everyone again.
If you think you have a story that she would be interested in, but you don't
feel comfortable writing it, I would be glad to help you put it into words.
Just email me and let me know!
My thanks again to Jamie for her thoughtfulness in purchasing the book for
me and to Yitta for all her encouragement! I love ya both!
Michael

In the supermarket was a man who was pushing a cart that contained
a screaming, bellowing baby. The gentleman kept repeating
softly, "Don't get excited, Albert. Don't scream, Albert.
Don't yell, Albert. Keep calm, Albert."

A woman standing next to him said, "You certainly are to be
commended for trying to soothe your little son Albert."

The man looked at her and said, "Lady, I'm Albert."

Thought For The Day:

"You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures."

Verse for the Day:

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the
joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2

Kid's Thought for the day:

"Plain underware is boring."

Parent's Thought For The Day

"Attention Father's! Before you criticize another, look closely at your sister's
brother."

Coach's Thought For The Day

"Never be boastful. Someone may come along who knew you as a child."

Deep Thought For The Day:

"If you only had one phone call to make before you die,
who would you call? What would you say? Why are you waiting?"
