The Heart of a Child

From the first inhalation of breath,
at the sacred moment of birth,
great faith abounds in the heart of child
as her journey begins on earth.

The rhythm of a newborn heart,
heralds a harmony tune.
Her tiny illumination
is incandescent as a harvest moon.

Born to a world she trusts in full,
she loves without condition.
And you, as the caretaker of her soul,
are accorded an honored position.

A dear and beloved gift is bestowed,
the miracle of life anew,
when heaven releases a precious child
and hands her over to you.

Her heart is the heart of the universe,
the heart of all humankind,
and when it is broken we all shall cry
for innocence left behind.

FISHING FOR OUR DREAMS

Everyday we walk to our spots
Bait our hooks
Cast our lines

Sometimes no nibble to give us hope
Don't be frustrated
Don't be discouraged, just cope
Don't feel like you're at the end of a rope

Don't give up fishing for dreams
Persevere in life's ocean, sea, or streams

There's the catch of a lifetime
Out there waiting for us prime
Losing faith is a crime
Reel in your dreams anytime
